Olathe Woman Found Safe; Silver Alert Canceled

OLATHE, KS – A Statewide Silver Alert issued for 71-year-old Gayl Stockman of Olathe has been canceled after she was located and found safe, the Olathe Police Department confirmed.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) had previously issued the alert after Stockman went missing on March 30th. She was last seen leaving the 15800 block of W. 150th Terrace in Olathe at approximately 9:30 a.m.

Authorities had expressed concern for Stockman’s well-being, as she suffers from dementia. She was believed to be driving a silver 2012 Lincoln MKZ with Kansas license plate 171PGD and was potentially accompanied by a large Bernese Mountain Dog. Initial reports indicated she might have been in the Cowgill, Missouri area.

Stockman is described as a white female, 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, blue and white striped shorts, white socks, and white tennis shoes.

The Olathe Police Department and the KBI thanked the public for their assistance in locating Stockman. No further details regarding her location or circumstances surrounding her disappearance have been released at this time.
