MANHATTAN, Kansas — In honor of Kansas’ largest industry, employer and economic driver, the Kansas Department of Agriculture is observing Kansas Agriculture Day on March 18 with a day at the Capitol. In addition, the entire month of March has been proclaimed Kansas Agriculture Month by Governor Laura Kelly.
To celebrate Kansas Ag Day, members of the Kansas trademark program, From the Land of Kansas, as well as several of our partners with Kansas ag organizations joined KDA at the Kansas State Capitol sharing Kansas-made products with legislators and other leaders to promote the value of agriculture to the state. Agriculture contributes more than $88 billion to the Kansas economy, leads the nation in grain sorghum and wheat production, and is in the nation’s top three states in cattle and calves.
Throughout Ag Month we celebrate the hard-working people in the agriculture community, and recognize that the crops and animals grown on farms and ranches in Kansas are feeding Kansas families as well as families around the world.
