Valley Heights Elementary in Waterville went into a brief lockdown today as a precautionary measure following a reported situation in Waterville, according to a statement released by Superintendent Sean Spoonts.
The school initiated the lockdown after receiving notification from local law enforcement, who were actively addressing the incident in Waterville. “The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority, and we followed all established protocols to ensure everyone remained secure,” Superintendent Spoonts stated.
Local authorities maintained close communication with the school district throughout the situation. After a thorough assessment, law enforcement determined that there was no direct threat to the school. The lockdown was subsequently lifted, and all students and staff were confirmed safe.
“We understand that situations like this can be concerning, and we appreciate your patience and support as we prioritize the well-being of our school community,” Superintendent Spoonts said in the statement.
