Chiefs Conclude Raider Week With 27-20 Victory; Improve To 7-0

The Kansas City Chiefs continued their dominant 2024 season with a 27-20 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, improving their record to 7-0.

The game was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading blows throughout the first half. The Chiefs struck first with a Kareem Hunt touchdown run, but the Raiders quickly responded with a touchdown pass from Gardner Minshew to Jakobi Meyers. The Raiders then took a brief lead with a field goal from Daniel Carlson. However, the Chiefs regained the lead before halftime with a touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce and a field goal from Harrison Butker.

The second half saw the Chiefs extend their lead with another Butker field goal. The Raiders threatened to score, but a crucial goal-line stand by the Chiefs’ defense thwarted their efforts. Mahomes then found rookie Xavier Worthy for a touchdown, giving the Chiefs a comfortable 27-13 lead.

Despite a late touchdown from the Raiders, the Chiefs held on for the victory. Mahomes finished the game with 262 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Kelce led the receivers with 90 yards and a touchdown.

With this win, the Chiefs have now started the season 7-0 for just the third time in franchise history. They will look to continue their winning streak when they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Monday night.
