A JetBlue flight from New York to San Diego was forced to make an emergency landing in Kansas after the crew reported a smoke alert originating from the cargo area. The plane, carrying approximately 130 passengers, safely landed at Salina Regional Airport.
Upon inspection, the airline determined that the alert was a false alarm. No injuries were reported, and local emergency services assisted passengers in disembarking from the aircraft.
The Federal Aviation Administration is currently investigating the incident to determine the cause of the false smoke alert. This precautionary measure is standard procedure in such situations to ensure the safety and security of all passengers and crew members.
JetBlue has issued a statement confirming the safe landing and the subsequent investigation.
