Topeka police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on September 14th near 19th Street and SW Buchanan Street. The incident resulted in property damage but no injuries.
Following an ongoing investigation, police executed a search warrant on September 20th at a residence in the 1800 block of SW Lincoln Street. During the search, six individuals were arrested and taken into custody.
Three juveniles were arrested and transported to the Shawnee County Juvenile Detention Center. A 12-year-old and a 13-year-old boy were booked on charges of aggravated assault, use of a deadly weapon, and interference with a law enforcement officer. A 17-year-old girl was also booked on those charges, as well as a violation of the Cigarette and Tobacco Products Act.
Three adults were also arrested. Shannon L. Bailey, 44, was booked on charges of aggravated endangering a child, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and interference with a law enforcement officer. Sarah E. Flynn, 40, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, use of a deadly weapon, aggravated endangering a child, criminal damage to property, criminal discharge of a firearm, and interference with a law enforcement officer. Baileah N. Flynn, 26, was arrested on charges of aggravated endangering a child and possession of methamphetamine.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
