Wymore Woman Taken into Custody for Drug-Related Child Abuse

Christina Devor, a 34-year-old woman from Wymore, was taken into custody by investigators from the Gage County Sheriff’s Office on Monday. This arrest came after she gave birth to a baby in a house that was filled with drugs. The deputies had initially been called to the residence in Wymore on June 25 to assist with a newborn baby that was born there.

The investigation revealed that Devor had delivered the baby prematurely and had been using methamphetamine and marijuana throughout her pregnancy. Subsequently, a search warrant was obtained for the house. During the search, law enforcement officers discovered a baggie containing suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, high-concentrate THC wax, as well as several other baggies with white residue, and various drug paraphernalia items.

Following the birth, the newborn infant had to be hospitalized for approximately three weeks. The child was then placed under the care of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. Devor faced multiple felony charges, including child abuse, exposing a child to methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
