Teacher participants needed for K-State College of Education training on rural STEM learning

Kansas State University's College of Education is using a $2.7 million grant to enhance rural education and promote STEM fields. They offer free training, resources, and $3,000 for technology to participating schools. The Project LEAPES Virtual Camp this summer includes robotics and coding activities for students in upper elementary and grades 6-8. Teachers can sign up for a $1,000 stipend and $3,000 worth of classroom equipment, with professional development sessions included. Last summer, the program successfully engaged hundreds of students. The grant is part of a larger initiative to enhance education in STEM and related fields.

KDOT seeks input on EV charging in Kansas

The Kansas Department of Transportation seeks public input for the Charge Up Kansas National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Plan, a requirement for accessing Electric Vehicle (EV) charging funds. KDOT is gathering feedback to shape next year’s plan and allocate the approximately $40 million in NEVI funds Kansas is projected to receive over five years. Cloud Co. Comm. College Lowering Cost Of Dual Credit Classes

Cloud County Community College is making college more accessible for high school students by waiving fees for dual credit courses starting fall 2024. President Amber Knoettgen emphasizes accessibility and affordability, saving families $141 per three-credit hour course.
