Classic Rock Z-96.3 The Lake Launches “The Yacht Club with Meredith Marx” — Smooth Sailing from the Geographic Center of the U.S.

GLEN ELDER, KANSAS — Classic Rock Z-96.3 The Lake is thrilled to announce the arrival of The Yacht Club with Meredith Marx, a nationally loved radio show now setting sail from one of the most ironic ports imaginable — the geographic center of the United States.

Beginning Sunday, February 22 at 7:00 p.m., The Yacht Club will air weekly on Sundays from 7:00–10:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 3:00–6:00 p.m. on Classic Rock Z-96.3 The Lake. (Saturday broadcasts will be subject to preemption due to Kansas Jayhawk Football and Men’s Basketball coverage.)

While Kansas may be landlocked, North Central Kansas listeners know there is a place to drop anchor — and The Yacht Club is the perfect soundtrack for those spending a summer afternoon out on the boat at Waconda Lake. Whether you’re cruising the shoreline, tying up at the dock, or relaxing with friends as the sun sets over the water, Captain Meredith Marx has the vibe covered.

Hosted by Captain Meredith Marx, The Yacht Club is more than a radio program — it’s an experience. Imagine a mimosa in your hand, a breeze on your shoulders, and timeless tunes filling the air. Marx curates a seamless mixtape of Yacht Rock, New Wave, Pop, and Rock favorites spanning 1970 to 1991, blending massive hits with deep cuts that spark instant nostalgia.

The Yacht Club first launched in January 2020 and has since grown a devoted national following affectionately known as the “Yachtys.” It’s become appointment listening for fans who tune in from start to finish — often stepping off the yacht saying, “Wow, that took me back,” or “I haven’t heard that in decades.”

Marx was practically born for the captain’s chair. Raised backstage as the daughter of a touring sound company owner, she grew up immersed in the world of live music, witnessing everything from sound checks to sold-out arenas. Encounters with icons like Bette Midler and Whitney Houston helped shape her lifelong connection to the era and artists she now celebrates on air.

After a broadcast career spanning dozens of stations along the East Coast, she launched Backstage Pass with Meredith Marx in 2017, offering listeners an insider’s look at life on tour with artists including Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Lita Ford, John Oates, the Steve Miller Band, and Frankie Valli.

In 2020, she charted a new course with The Yacht Club, first airing in Baltimore before expanding nationwide. Now, that smooth-sailing soundtrack will echo from the heart of America — proof that even in the geographic center of the country, you can still find your sea legs.

Listeners can learn more at https://theyachtclubshow.com/ and are invited to tune in and climb aboard.

From the middle of the map to the middle of the lake — The Yacht Club is ready to sail on Classic Rock Z-96.3 The Lake.
