NCK Raptors Mountain Bike Team Gear Up for Spring Season

North Central KS – The NCK Raptors Mountain Bike Team is preparing for their sixth season with an informational meeting with local coaches. The meeting will be held on Sunday, December 7th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Porter House Meeting Room, 209 E. Main, Beloit, KS. The NCK Raptors team is open to boys and girls 5th to 12th grade from area schools and homeschool students in North Central Kansas, and is in the sixth year of the Interscholastic Kansas Cycling League. Practice commences in January, and attending this meeting is the best ‘first step’ for all new riders, along with our current team members. This coming season will be the first year fifth grade student athletes will be welcome to participate.

There will be a group ride after the meeting, so all are welcome to bring bikes and helmets. Visit the NCK Raptors Facebook page for more details or call head coach John McClure at 785-346-6156 or team director Doug Palen at 785-545-8505.

Head coach, John McClure, commented, “We’re excited for our sixth season for the NCK Raptors and getting more kids on bikes. We had an amazing fifth year with our team of student athletes and we’re looking forward to growing our team once again!”

The NCK Raptors Mountain Bike Team, founded in 2020, is an official club in North Central Kansas and plans to hold practices starting in January for the spring event season. The team will compete in the Interscholastic Kansas Cycling League which provides programs to help students achieve both competitive and noncompetitive cross-country mountain biking goals and comprises the easiest route for youth to get involved in the life-long sport of cycling.
