The second race of Kansas NICA's mountain bike series, ‘Crankin’ the Creek’, took place on April 12th at Fancy Creek State Park in Randolph, KS. With 199 athletes from thirteen teams navigating challenging terrain, notable performances included Addisen Schreiber winning the JV2 girls category. Coach Craig Underwood praised the tough conditions faced by athletes.

The NCK Raptors Mountain Bike Team is gearing up for its sixth season, starting practices on January 11th, 2-4 p.m. at Palen Family Farms in Glen Elder, KS. Open to 5th to 12th graders, the team aims to promote cycling. Interested participants can contact Coach John McClure for more information.

The NCK Raptors Mountain Bike Team will hold an informational meeting on December 7th at Guaranty State Bank, Beloit, KS, to prepare for their sixth season. Open to students in 5th to 12th grades, practice starts in January. A group ride follows the meeting. For details, visit their Facebook page.

The first race of Kansas NICA’s mountain bike series, ‘Wicked at Wilson,’ took place at Wilson Lake on April 6th, featuring eleven teams and 159 student athletes. Notable performances included Clayton Underwood (9th) and Olivia Dail (3rd). The next race, ‘Crankin' the Creek,’ is scheduled for April 13th.

The first race of season four of Kansas NICA’s mountain bike series took place at Wilson Lake Switchgrass Mountain Bike Trails, with nine teams participating. Students from various grades completed challenging laps on the 4-mile trail. The NCK Raptor athletes and coaches are excited for the next race at Palen Family Farms on April 21st.
