Nemaha County Administrator Resigns, Successor Named

SENECA, KANSAS—Nemaha County Administrator Robert Reece has resigned from his position, effective October 1. The Nemaha County Commission unanimously accepted his resignation during their August 25 meeting, following an executive session.

No reason for Reece’s departure was publicly provided. Reece has served as county administrator since March 31 of this year. While stepping down from his current role, he will continue to assist the county as a budgetary advisor for the 2027 budget.

In a unanimous decision, the commission appointed County Counselor Austin Parker to serve as the transitional county administrator. Parker will receive an additional annual salary of $65,000 for the new role, effective immediately. Parker expressed gratitude for Reece’s contributions during his tenure with the county.
