Mobile Crane Topples at K-State Campus, Crushing Vehicles

MANHATTAN, Kan. – A mobile crane truck toppled near a construction site on the Kansas State University campus Wednesday, crashing down on several parked cars. The incident occurred near Weber Hall, where a construction project is underway.

Emergency crews were quick to respond to the scene at the south end of the B1 parking lot. Fortunately, no injuries were reported despite the dramatic scene of the fallen crane and damaged vehicles.

As a result of the accident, the B1 parking lot has been closed from Claflin Road to the Recycling Center while crews work to clear the heavy machinery and debris.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation. University officials have not released any further details at this time.
