Classic Rock Z-96.3 The Lake Announces Programming Changes for Upcoming Season

Glen Elder, Kan. — Classic Rock Z-96.3 The Lake (KZDY-FM) announced today that it will no longer broadcast Kansas City Chiefs Football from the Chiefs Radio Network beginning with the upcoming NFL season.

The decision comes as a result of a change in satellite distribution services utilized by the station, which makes it technically impossible to continue carrying Chiefs broadcasts.

While Kansas City Chiefs programming will no longer be available on Z-96.3 The Lake, fans can still catch every game and the popular Chiefs Kingdom Show with Mitch Holthus on our sister station, Classic Hits Q-106.7 KQNK-FM in Norton, Kansas. While play by play coverage is unavailable for internet streaming, the Chiefs Kingdom Show will stream live via our SunflowerStateRadio.com website.

Despite this change, Z-96.3 The Lake remains committed to bringing top-quality sports coverage to its listeners. The station will continue as a full-time affiliate of the Kansas Jayhawk Radio Network from Learfield Communications, featuring:

  • Kansas Football
  • Kansas Men’s Basketball
  • Select Kansas Women’s Basketball Games
  • Hawk Talk Coach’s Shows with Head Coach Lance Leipold (Football) and Head Coach Bill Self (Men’s Basketball)

“We’re proud to continue our long-standing partnership with the Kansas Jayhawk Radio Network,” said Operations Manager Derek Nester. “While we regret that technical changes prevent us from airing the Chiefs this season, we’re excited to continue delivering the Jayhawk coverage our listeners value and to remind fans that Chiefs broadcasts remain available on KQNK-FM “Q-106.7’ in Norton.”
