OKLAHOMA CITY, July 1, 2025 ā Oklahoma City Thunder guard/forward Jalen Williams underwent a successful procedure to address a torn scapholunate ligament in his right wrist, the team announced today. He will be re-evaluated in approximately 12 weeks.
Williams appeared in 69 games (all starts) during Oklahoma Cityās championship season and averaged 21.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.61 steals in 32.4 minutes per game, all career-highs. During his 2024-25 campaign, the third-year guard/forward received his first NBA All-Star honor and was named to the All-NBA Third Team and the NBA All-Defensive Second Team.
This season Williams was one of just four players to average at least 20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 1.5 steals (Gilgeous-Alexander, Harden, JokiÄ).
The procedure was performed by Dr. Steven Shin at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif. with Thunder medical personnel present. Williams sustained the injury during the Thunderās 125-112 win over the Phoenix Suns on April 9.
