OKLAHOMA CITY, June 24, 2026 – The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired the draft rights to guard Otega Oweh with the 41st overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft and cash considerations from the Miami Heat in exchange for the draft rights to guard Ryan Conwell with the 37th overall pick, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti.
Oweh appeared in 36 games (all starts) with the University of Kentucky last season and averaged 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.8 steals. The New Jersey native led the Wildcats in scoring and steals during his senior season and he was twice named to the All-SEC Second Team. Oweh finished with the most points scored by a player during their first two seasons at Kentucky in school history (1,255).
