Vehicle vs. Bicyclist Crash in Riley County Sunday

MANHATTAN, KS – A 54-year-old bicyclist sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on K113 in Riley County on Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:59 p.m. The bicyclist was traveling southbound on the shoulder of K113 when a Chevrolet Trax, also traveling southbound, drifted onto the shoulder and collided with him.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), the Chevrolet Trax was driven by a 19-year-old male. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The KHP reported that the bicyclist was not wearing any safety equipment at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported for the occupants of the Chevrolet Trax.

The incident is under investigation by the Kansas Highway Patrol.
