A fatal accident occurred early Wednesday morning in northern Kansas. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), the crash happened around 5 a.m. on U.S. Route 81, approximately four and a half miles north of Belleville.
A Ford F150 traveling south in the northbound lanes collided head-on with a northbound semi-truck. The Ford came to a rest in the median, facing northeast, while the semi-truck stopped partially in the median and across the left lane.
The driver of the Ford, 20-year-old Xavier C. Robison of Republic, was killed in the crash. Authorities reported that he was not wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the semi-truck, a 34-year-old man from Texas, was transported to a hospital for treatment. A 33-year-old passenger in the semi-truck was unharmed.
