Rangers Blast Royals 15-4 Saturday; Looking For Series Win Sunday Afternoon

Nathaniel Lowe showcased an impressive performance with four hits and two RBIs, contributing significantly to the Texas Rangers’ 15-4 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Saturday night. This standout performance came after Lowe struggled the previous night, going hitless in four at-bats during Texas’ 7-1 loss. Notably, this game marked Lowe’s first four-hit game since July 14 of last year.

In addition to Lowe’s stellar performance, Adolis García, Evan Carter, and Travis Jankowski also made notable contributions by each driving in two runs. Carter, in particular, scored on a wild pitch following a two-run triple in the third inning. García extended his hitting streak to six games, while Carter’s two hits helped him extend his hit streak to five games. The Rangers’ offense was firing on all cylinders, totaling a season-high 17 hits and setting a season-high in runs against the team with the highest run differential in the majors.

The game saw Texas deliver three three-run innings and a five-run ninth, ultimately handing Kansas City its most significant loss of the season. Noteworthy plays included two runs scoring on a wild pitch and a throwing error in the seventh inning, as well as RBIs from Joe Smith, Jankowski, Marcus Semien, Leody Taveras, and Ezequiel Duran in the ninth. Dane Dunning’s solid pitching performance, limiting the Royals to just one hit through the first four innings, set the tone for the Rangers’ dominant victory. Josh Sborz secured the win with a strong inning of relief, while Michael Wacha struggled on the mound for the Royals, pitching a season-low 3 2/3 innings and allowing seven runs and nine hits.

The 3-game series between the Royals and the Rangers will come to an end on Sunday afternoon at Kauffman Stadium. The first pitch is slated for 1:10 pm, and you can catch the pregame coverage on Classic Hits KQNK 106.7 FM, 102.5 FM & 1530 AM starting at 12:30 pm. Daniel Lynch will take the mound for Kansas City, while Jon Gray will be the starting pitcher for the Rangers.
