Severe Weather Possible This Evening And Late Tonight

Severe thunderstorms are possible in east central Kansas this evening, with increased chances after midnight. Rain and storms will persist along and south of I-70 on Tuesday, with heavy rainfall expected Tuesday night through Wednesday night. Dry conditions are forecasted to return by Thursday afternoon.

Severe Thunderstorms Possible This Evening & Tonight

Thunderstorms are expected in northern and eastern Kansas on Tuesday evening and night, with a 70% to 90% likelihood of occurrence. While all severe hazards, including tornadoes, are possible, large hail and damaging wind gusts are anticipated to be the primary threats during these storms.

Strong To Severe Thunderstorms Expected Today Across Northeast Kansas

Severe thunderstorms are expected to move west to east across northeast and east central Kansas today, with the greatest risk occurring between 4 and 10 pm. Damaging winds are the primary concern, but strong tornadoes may also develop. Residents should remain vigilant and prepared for severe weather.

Severe Storms Overnight Cause Damage

A powerful storm caused a power outage at KNDY studio and Marysville transmitters. Crews are working to restore service, while Marshall County Emergency Management assesses the damage. The Frankfort area may have been most affected. Only a vacant trailer house was damaged, and no injuries were reported. KNDY is simulcasting programming from sister-station KD Country 94.
