WASHINGTON, Kan. — The 2026 Twin Valley League (TVL) Basketball Tournament is in full swing at Washington County High School, with opening-round action already shaking up the brackets for both the girls and boys divisions. Teams are competing across the Primary and Secondary gyms as they battle toward the championship finals scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 24.

Opening Round Recap

The tournament kicked off Saturday, Jan. 17, with high-stakes play-in games.

Boys Tournament Highlights:

  • Washington County (WCHS) secured a dominant 57-47 victory over Frankfort to advance.
  • Centralia moved forward after a 69-43 win against Onaga.
  • Blue Valley beat out Valley Heights 62-39.

Girls Tournament Highlights:

  • Blue Valley defeated Frankfort 39-29 in the early morning session.
  • Clifton-Clyde earned a 59-26 victory over host Washington County (WCHS).
  • Axtell advanced with a 49-34 win over Onaga.
