Guaranty State Bank & Trust Co. Announces Appointment of New President/CEO

Beloit, KS — October 16, 2025 – Guaranty State Bank & Trust Co. is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Rabe as its new President/Chief Executive Officer, effective December 2025. Rabe succeeds Doug Johnson, who is retiring after 51 years of dedicated leadership.

Jason Rabe brings a wealth of experience in leadership, strategic planning, and community banking and a strong commitment to serving rural communities. In this role, he will lead the bank’s strategic initiatives, community engagement efforts, and continued focus on personalized financial services.

About Jason Rabe
Jason Rabe has had a successful leadership background across both the public and private sectors.  Prior to accepting the role of CEO/President of Guaranty State Bank & Trust Co. he served as the CEO/General Manager of Rolling Hills Electric Cooperative, City Manager for the City of Beloit, Kansas, and accumulated over 11 years of experience as a community banker.

Jason comes from a rural and agricultural family; his father’s family were farmers in Illinois and his mother’s family were Farmall dealers post WWII.  Out of college, Jason’s dad managed a farm in rural Indiana before taking store management positions with John Deere and Case IH respectively. 

Jason started his career in banking as a Loan Officer with Farmers State Bank of Trimont, MN. He then joined Guaranty Bank & Trust Company in Cedar Rapids, IA, where he established a new bank branch and eventually served as Vice President of Retail Lending. 

Concurrently, Jason ran for public office and became Mayor of Fairfax, which was one of the fastest growing communities in Iowa, where he oversaw infrastructure investments exceeding $11.6 million and facilitated a major annexation. In 2016, he became City Manager of Beloit, Kansas, leading over $13 million in local projects, securing $16.5 million in grants, and advancing future developments with over $22 million in pending projects.

Prior to accepting his new role with Guaranty State Bank & Trust Company, Jason has served the members of Rolling Hills Electric Cooperative where he worked to modernize their utility rate structure, complete a modern system inventory, and positioned the cooperative to be competitive in the human capital arena.

Jason received a B.S. in Marketing Management from Bob Jones University and a M.P.A. from Arkansas State University. Residing in Beloit, Kansas since 2016 along with his wife Julia and their three children- Kaden, Keira, and Kael.
