Family Escapes Fire but Father Dies in Pratt Incident

A tragic house fire in Pratt claimed the life of a man on Monday afternoon. The incident occurred near the intersection of South High Street and West 3rd Street around 3:30 PM.

According to Pratt police, the man’s wife and three children were inside the home at the time of the fire but were able to escape safely. The man, who was outside, re-entered the burning house in an attempt to ensure his family’s safety.

The state fire marshal’s office is conducting a supplemental investigation into the cause of the fire. Preliminary findings suggest that the fire may have originated from an electrical source.
