A school bus was involved in a crash in Riley County on Wednesday afternoon. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), a 61-year-old driver from Clyde, Kansas, was driving a semi-truck westbound on US-77 when he suddenly noticed the school bus’s red stop signs deployed.
The school bus was parked on the highway shoulder, and a 69-year-old man from Clay Center was driving a Buick Regal and attempted to stop upon seeing the stop signs. However, the semi-truck driver rear-ended the Buick Regal and subsequently collided with the school bus.
Despite 26 students being on board, there were no reported injuries in the crash.
