Frazier 2-Run Home Run Sparks Comeback Win For Royals Over Angels 2-1

In Friday night’s game, Adam Frazier played a crucial role in the Kansas City Royals’ comeback victory against the struggling Los Angeles Angels. With one out in the ninth inning, MJ Melendez hit a single off Angels closer Carlos Estévez. Frazier then stepped up and hit a two-run homer, his first of the season, to secure the 2-1 win for the Royals. This was a significant moment for Frazier, who hadn’t hit a home run in 74 games since July 30 of the previous year.

The Royals have been performing well lately, winning three consecutive games and seven out of their last ten. Tyler Duffey, who pitched the eighth inning, earned his first victory since 2022. On the other hand, the Angels have been struggling, losing 16 of their last 21 games. Estévez, who blew his third save in six opportunities, was unable to hold onto the lead. Despite Jo Adell’s impressive performance, including a home run and a diving catch, the Angels couldn’t secure the win.

In addition to Frazier’s heroics, Melendez had a strong game with three hits. Alec Marsh also made a notable return from injury, pitching into the sixth inning and striking out seven batters while allowing only one run. The Royals were on the verge of a shutout loss before their late-game rally. The Angels’ Griffin Canning had an impressive outing, holding the Royals to just three hits and two walks over 5 2/3 scoreless innings. However, the Angels’ bullpen couldn’t hold onto the lead, resulting in another disappointing loss for the team.

Left-handed pitcher Tyler Anderson, with a record of 2 wins and 4 losses and an ERA of 2.74, will be starting for Los Angeles in the third game of the series against Kansas City. He will be facing left-handed pitcher Cole Ragans, who has a record of 2 wins and 2 losses with an ERA of 3.38. The pregame coverage will be broadcasted on Classic Hits KQNK 106.7 FM & 102.5 FM starting at 8:00 p.m., with the first pitch scheduled for 8:38 p.m. in Anaheim.
