More than 488,000 Kansans Plan a Memorial Day Weekend Trip

The Memorial Day travel forecast projects 488,000 Kansans will travel over 50 miles, with 86.7% driving. Gas prices in Kansas are about $3.15/gallon. AAA offers tips on saving gas, tools to find cheaper gas, and a credit card for cash back on gas. Hotels are 5% cheaper, and food prices have increased. Safety precautions are advised.

K-14 bridge repair to begin Monday in Mitchell County

The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin bridge repair on K-14 in Mitchell County from May 20. Temporary traffic signals will direct one lane of traffic through construction, leading to delays of up to 10 minutes. The prime contractor for this $627,960.50 project is L & M Contractors Inc. Work is scheduled for completion in September, weather permitting. Motorists are urged to be cautious in work zones.
