Seth Lugo delivered an impressive performance on the mound, pitching seven strong innings and securing his third consecutive victory. Vinnie Pasquantino’s home run contributed to the Kansas City Royals’ 2-0 win over the Chicago White Sox on Monday night. Lugo, with his precise pitching, only allowed four hits, all of which were singles. He struck out four batters and walked just one throughout the game.
The Kansas City Royals extended their dominance over the Chicago White Sox, maintaining a perfect 5-0 record against them this season. The Royals, who have had a surprising start to the season with an 11-6 record, have showcased exceptional pitching, allowing only 48 runs so far, the lowest in the major leagues. On the other hand, the struggling White Sox offense has scored just 34 runs, also the lowest total in the big leagues.
Despite a valiant effort by Andrew Benintendi, who managed to secure two hits for the White Sox, the team suffered their fifth consecutive loss. The White Sox offense struggled once again, being shut out for the sixth time this season. With Braden Shewmake being the only Chicago runner to advance past first base, the Royals’ pitching staff, led by Chris Stratton and James McArthur, effectively shut down the White Sox lineup.
Looking ahead, the Royals will send Brady Singer to the mound, while Jonathan Cannon will make his major league debut for the Chicago White Sox in the upcoming game Tuesday. Pregame on Classic Hits KQNK 106.7 FM, 102.5 FM & 1530 AM will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by first pitch at 6:40 p.m. from Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago.
