Beginning Monday, March 18, the Kansas Department of Transportation will resume work for a pavement replacement project on I-135 from just north of exit 48 in McPherson County and continue south about three miles, near Moundridge.
During construction of the southbound lanes, southbound exit and entrance ramps at exit 48 will be closed and traffic will be reduced to one lane as median crossovers carry one lane of southbound traffic on the northbound lanes at a reduced speed.
As work progresses, southbound I-135 ramps and lanes will be reopened and northbound I-135 will be closed for reconstruction. Northbound exit and entrance ramps at exit 48 will be closed during reconstruction of the northbound lanes.
Koss Construction Co. of Topeka is the prime contractor and has scheduled this $19 million project to be completed in late July, weather permitting.
