Kansas Highway Patrol Reports Continued Speeding Issues

The Kansas Highway Patrol has noted an increase in speeding drivers despite adverse weather conditions. Recently, Trooper Jason Fraser cited a motorist for driving 100 mph in a 75 mph zone on I-135 in McPherson County, resulting in a $150 fine. The trend raises safety concerns on the roads.

I-135 pavement replacement resumes at Moundridge

The Kansas Department of Transportation will resume a pavement replacement project on I-135 from north of exit 48 in McPherson County, progressing south about three miles near Moundridge. During construction, there will be lane closures and reduced speeds. The project is expected to be completed in late July, with KDOT advising motorists to stay alert in work zones.
