Governor Kelly issues state of disaster emergency for severe storms that impacted the state

Governor Laura Kelly declared a state of disaster emergency due to severe weather in Kansas. The proclamation activates the Kansas Response Plan and expedites state agency assistance to affected communities. The Kansas Division of Emergency Management is managing requests for support from impacted counties.

K-14 bridge repair to begin Monday in Mitchell County

The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin bridge repair on K-14 in Mitchell County from May 20. Temporary traffic signals will direct one lane of traffic through construction, leading to delays of up to 10 minutes. The prime contractor for this $627,960.50 project is L & M Contractors Inc. Work is scheduled for completion in September, weather permitting. Motorists are urged to be cautious in work zones. Royals Sweep Athletics With 8-4 Victory Sunday
