Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Announces 2024 Award Winners Including Our Own Dusty Deines

Miss Kansas – Alana Shetlar- Andover High and Mr. Kansas T. J. Williams – Wichita Heights
will be honored before their games respectively.

At the half-time of the girls game the Kansas High School Champion coaches will get their
championship rings presented by Jostens the KBCA ring sponsor.

Clint Hill Service Award – Will be honored to Ron Koster – Clay Center, Ks. – for his service of
helping Clay Center with their athletic programs.

Don Jones Courage Award will be awarded to Nick Linn – Smith Center, Ks. – current girl’s
basketball coach who is retiring and we are honoring him for his service to the school, his
team and community. He had a health issue he survived and came back to coach this past
season.

Media Award – Dusty Deines – KD Country 94 and Z-96.3 The Lake Glen Elder, Ks. will
be honored. For his coverage of his area teams in sports.

Hall of Fame – Half-time of the boy’s game the Wichita Heights High School team of 2011
will be honored. 25-0 Undefeated Champions.

College Awards honored for 2024
4 Year College Coaches of the Year – Women’s – Jeff Mittie- Kansas State. Anthony Monson – Men’s Kansas Wesleyan U.
2 Year College Coaches of the Year – Women’s – National Champion Coach – John Ontjes – Hutchinson Community College; Men’s – National Champion Jeremy Coombs – Barton Community College.
