ESKRIDGE, Kan. — The Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help after two therapy horses were shot and killed over the weekend in what officials are describing as a "reprehensible atrocity."

TOPEKA, Kan. — A man from Ohio was killed in a single-vehicle crash on eastbound I-70 on Wednesday morning after a tire on the van he was in blew out, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP).

A domestic incident in Pottawatomie County led to the arrest of Jaron Anthony Taitano, 37, in the Wabaunsee County Courthouse parking lot. The woman he allegedly stalked reported him while fleeing in her vehicle. Taitano faces charges of assault, stalking, and reckless driving, remaining in custody with no reported injuries.

Two Johnson County teens, 18-year-old Zane Burnett and 19-year-old Eli Hoskins, face burglary charges after being caught breaking into an abandoned property in Eskridge, KS. A suspicious officer observed them loading stolen items into their vehicle, leading to a traffic stop and their arrest. The investigation is ongoing.

A Kansas City man was arrested following a motorcycle theft from a dealership near Manhattan, Kansas. The theft occurred on February 7, involving multiple individuals using a U-Haul. After a pursuit, the suspect was captured. Many stolen motorcycles were recovered, and further arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
