KCC approves settlement agreement in Kansas Gas Service rate case

The Kansas Corporation Commission approved a settlement reducing Kansas Gas Service's requested $58.1 million revenue increase to $35 million. Residential bills will rise by about $3.83 monthly. KGS withdrew proposals for varying rate structures and performance-based adjustments after opposition. The new rates begin November 1, following a five-year hiatus in rate cases.

Kansas Corporation Commission will hear testimony on a proposed settlement agreement filed in the Kansas Gas Service rate case

The Kansas Gas Service rate case will now have a settlement hearing instead of an evidentiary hearing as approved by the Kansas Corporation Commission. The hearing is set for August 13 and may result in a monthly bill increase of approximately $3.83 for average residential customers if the settlement is approved.

KCC will hold first public hearing in Kansas Gas Service rate case this week

The Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) will hold public hearings for Kansas Gas Service's rate increase request. The first hearing will be in Topeka on June 13 and the second in Wichita on June 17. Virtual participation is available through Zoom. Written comments are accepted until August 5, 2024. If approved, the average monthly residential bill will increase.
