Community Update: Strengthening the Patient Financial Experience at Community Memorial Healthcare

Community Memorial Healthcare is committed to providing high-quality care and service to the patients and communities we serve. That commitment extends beyond clinical care and includes ensuring patients have a positive experience when navigating billing and financial services.

Over time, hospital leadership has heard concerns from patients and community members regarding billing processes, communication, and customer service experiences. We have taken that feedback seriously and have been evaluating opportunities to improve the patient financial experience.

As part of that effort, Community Memorial Healthcare will expand their partnership with Ovation Healthcare, a healthcare services organization that works alongside hospitals to strengthen operational performance and revenue cycle operations, beginning July 1, 2026.

The extension of this partnership will provide Community Memorial Healthcare with additional expertise, resources, and operational support designed to improve billing processes, enhance communication, and create a more responsive experience for patients and families.

You may hear the term “revenue cycle,” which refers to everything that happens after a patient receives care, including insurance billing, processing claims, sending statements, and assisting with billing questions. This partnership is focused on improving those processes so patients have clearer communication, better support, and an overall smoother experience.

As part of this transition, designated revenue cycle employees (also known as our Business Office) will become employees of Ovation Healthcare while continuing to support Community Memorial Healthcare and its patients. Day-to-day responsibilities, service to the hospital, and commitment to the community will remain unchanged. The purpose of the transition is to align these team members with the organization providing leadership and operational support for these functions.

Importantly, this partnership does not involve a change in hospital ownership, governance, leadership, or patient care services. Community Memorial Healthcare remains locally governed, locally operated, and committed to serving the healthcare needs of the community.

“Healthcare is becoming increasingly complex, and we have a responsibility to continually look for ways to improve the experience for our patients,” said Tom Hood, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Community Memorial Healthcare. “We have heard concerns regarding billing and patient financial services, and this partnership reflects our commitment to taking action, investing in improvement, and ensuring patients receive the support they deserve.”

“Our goal is to make every part of the patient experience clear and supportive,” said Ashley Landoll, Marketing Director at Community Memorial Healthcare. “Improving how we communicate and support our patients through the billing process is a key focus for us, so families feel informed and confident every step of the way.”

Hospital leadership expects the partnership to strengthen revenue cycle operations while supporting the long-term sustainability of Community Memorial Healthcare and its ability to serve the community for years to come.

For questions regarding this transition, please contact Ashley Landoll at (785) 562-4379.
