Wichita Police Renew Search for “Armed and Dangerous” Teen Suspect in Double Shooting

WICHITA, KS – Law enforcement officials issued a fresh appeal to the public on Wednesday as the search continues for 16-year-old Cesar Govea, a suspect wanted in connection with a violent double shooting last month.

Wichita Police confirmed that Govea remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.

Details of the Incident

The search stems from an August 24 shooting that occurred near the intersection of Wichita and Waterwalk. According to investigators:

  • The victims, a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, were sitting inside a vehicle when the suspect opened fire.
  • Police identified Govea as the shooter and noted that the female victim is his ex-girlfriend.
