Kansans are urged to prepare for severe weather by participating in a statewide tornado drill on March 4, coinciding with Severe Weather Awareness Week. This drill, beginning at 10:00 a.m. CST, will emphasize practice of safety plans, including identifying safe spots, stocking emergency kits, and establishing reliable warning systems.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for central and north central Kansas, effective from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday. Snow is expected, with accumulations of one to two inches in most areas. Motorists should exercise caution due to potentially slippery roads. For road updates, call 511.
