Eight Arrested in Emporia Following Weeks-Long Fraud and Unlicensed Dentistry Investigation

EMPORIA, KS – A multi-agency investigation spanning several weeks in southeast Kansas has led to the arrest of eight individuals on a range of charges, including making false documents, identity fraud, and even operating unlicensed dental offices.

The extensive investigation began on April 26 when Emporia Police officers attempted to locate a person with an outstanding warrant at an eastern Emporia residence. This initial effort quickly escalated into a narcotics investigation, according to a media release from the Emporia Police Department.

Upon executing a search warrant at the residence, officers discovered narcotics and what appeared to be fraudulent documents, prompting further inquiry. The investigation subsequently uncovered a network of individuals allegedly involved in the production, supply, and use of various false documents, including social security cards, identification cards, driver’s licenses, and permanent resident cards.

A significant development in the case revealed that one individual under investigation for supplying false documents is also alleged to be involved with unlicensed dental offices. These illicit operations were reportedly uncovered in two separate homes, one in eastern and another in western Emporia.

The weeks-long collaborative effort, which included assistance from the Department of Homeland Security, resulted in eight arrests, the execution of more than 10 search warrants, the seizure of two vehicles, and approximately $6,000 in U.S. currency.

The following individuals are currently in custody on requested charges in connection with the investigation:
