Pedestrian Killed in Ellsworth County Accident

ELLSWORTH COUNTY, KS – A Holyrood man died Thursday night after being struck by an SUV while crossing a highway in Ellsworth County. The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) reported the fatal accident occurred just after 9:30 p.m.

According to the KHP, a 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan, driven by 42-year-old Jose Manuel Quintanilla of Garden City, was traveling westbound on Kansas 156, approximately three miles north of Kansas 14. The SUV struck 63-year-old Timothy Lee Fosdick of Holyrood, who was a pedestrian crossing the road.

Fosdick was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and his body was transported to Frontier Forensics. Quintanilla and the four passengers in his SUV were all properly restrained and did not sustain any injuries, the KHP reported. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
