MEADE COUNTY, Kan. – A Stillwater, Minnesota woman died in a two-vehicle accident that occurred just before 5 p.m. on Thursday in Meade County.
According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), Ashley M. Brooker, 35, was driving a 2011 Cadillac CTS westbound on U.S. 54. The incident took place miles just west of the U.S. 160 junction.
The KHP stated that Brooker’s Cadillac traveled left of the center line and collided with a 2022 Toyota Tundra driven by Korin Hutchisson of El Paso, Texas.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported Brooker to St. Catherine Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Hutchisson was reported to have sustained no injuries in the crash.
The Kansas Highway Patrol also noted in their report that Brooker was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
