Fatal Ellis County Crash Claims Hays Man

A 40-year-old Hays man, Brandon L. Frick, lost his life in a fatal car accident on Tuesday evening.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 9 p.m. on U.S. Highway 183 near Munjor Road in Ellis County. Frick was driving a 2003 Toyota Tundra southbound when he crossed the center line and collided with a northbound semi-truck driven by 34-year-old Jesse W. Crum of Colorado.

Both vehicles veered off the road and came to a stop in the west ditch. Frick succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Crum was unharmed.

The KHP confirmed that Frick was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
