Great Bend Police Investigate Alleged School Threat, Make Arrest

The Great Bend Police Department is investigating an alleged threat made towards students and staff at Great Bend Middle School.

On Tuesday, shortly before 11:30 AM, authorities received reports of the threat and dispatched School Resource Officers, Patrol Officers, and Detectives to the school.

Through their investigation, detectives identified a communication containing a threat made to multiple students. A 14-year-old boy was arrested at the school in connection with the incident.

The case details have been forwarded to the Barton County Attorney’s Office for further review.
