KDOL Offers Free Safety Consultations to Businesses in Kansas

In an ongoing commitment to prioritize workplace safety in businesses across Kansas, the Industrial Safety and Health Division (ISH) with the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) encourages business owners to take advantage of a FREE safety and health consultation service.

During a KDOL On-Site visit, employers will have the opportunity to engage in a confidential discussion with a highly skilled safety and health professional. These professionals are Safety and Industrial Hygiene specialists with a wealth of experience and OSHA training. They are well-equipped to address safety and health issues in your facility, whether widespread or localized.

“The only obligation will be to agree to promptly correct all serious safety and health hazards,” said Allen Vinyard, ISH Division Director. “OSHA could be notified if serious hazards or imminent dangers are identified or not corrected.”

Businesses must correct safety hazards, but no financial penalties or citations are imposed or issued by ISH consultants.

“We are here to help you correct unsafe or unhealthy working conditions, keep your employees safe and your business prosperous,” Vinyard added.

Worker safety is essential part of running a business and will enable your workers to become more efficient at their jobs and assure product quality. Workers are more likely to stay at a company that cares about their well-being.

If you are an employer with less than 250 employees on-site and no more than 500 corporate-wide interested in a confidential consultation, follow these steps:

  • Visit, www.dol.ks.gov/ish
  • On the left-hand side navigation bar, select Free Safety Consultation.
  • Scroll down and select Consultation Form.
  • Fill out the form and return by one of the following options below:

A consultant will contact you to discuss the safety and health needs of your business and set a date for the visit that is convenient for you.
