Marysville Games on Classic Country 1570 AM & 94.1 FM KNDY. Norton Games on Classic Hits Q-106.7

HIAWATHA, KS – The Kansas American Legion State Baseball Tournament, currently underway in Hiawatha, is facing schedule modifications for Friday, July 25, due to persistent rain in the area. Tournament officials are implementing revised start times and a potential split-venue plan to ensure games can proceed.

The initial revised schedule aims for a 2:00 PM start time at the Hiawatha facility, featuring four matchups:

  • 2:00 PM: Colby vs. Seneca
  • 4:30 PM: Garnett vs. Norton
  • 7:00 PM: Smith County vs. Iola
  • 9:30 PM: Hiawatha vs. Marysville

However, tournament organizers have also prepared an alternative plan should weather conditions prevent the 2:00 PM start. Under this contingency, games would shift to a 6:00 PM start, with contests split between Hiawatha and Sabetha to accommodate the revised schedule.

The split-venue schedule would be as follows:

In Hiawatha:

  • 6:00 PM: Garnett vs. Norton
  • 8:30 PM: Hiawatha vs. Marysville

In Sabetha:

  • 6:00 PM: Colby vs. Seneca
  • 8:30 PM: Hiawatha vs. Marysville

Further adjustments to Saturday’s game schedule are also anticipated, particularly for teams participating in the late Friday night games, to allow for adequate rest and recovery. Fans attending the tournament are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates regarding game times and locations.
