KANSAS CITY, MO – The National Football League released its highly anticipated 2025 regular season schedule on Wednesday, and the Kansas City Chiefs are set for a prominent slate with eight standalone games, including seven primetime contests. GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium will host four of these marquee matchups. Notably, the Chiefs will also feature in games on both Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
The Chiefs’ quest for a third consecutive Super Bowl title will begin on an international stage. They are slated to kick off the 2025 season against the Los Angeles Chargers in São Paulo, Brazil, on Friday, September 5. This historic contest will be the NFL’s first-ever live game broadcast exclusively on YouTube. The Week 1 matchup marks the Chiefs’ first international game since their appearance in Frankfurt, Germany, in 2023, and also serves as the first AFC West showdown of the season as they aim for their 10th consecutive division crown.
The 2025 schedule presents a challenging path for the Chiefs, featuring 10 games against teams that made the playoffs in 2024. The combined record of Kansas City’s opponents from last season is a formidable 151-138-0 (.522).
Returning to Arrowhead for their home opener in Week 2 on September 14, the Chiefs will face a Super Bowl LIX rematch against the defending champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. The following week, on September 21, they will travel to take on the New York Giants in the first of three NBC Sunday Night Football broadcasts. They return home in Week 4 to host the Baltimore Ravens on September 28.
October begins with another primetime road game as the Chiefs travel to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars on Monday, October 6, in their first of two Monday Night Football appearances. Weeks 6 through 8 will see the Chiefs back in Kansas City for a three-game homestand, including two more primetime matchups. They will host the Detroit Lions on Sunday night, October 12, followed by a divisional clash against the Las Vegas Raiders on October 19, and then the Washington Commanders on Monday, October 27.
A highly anticipated AFC Championship Game rematch awaits in Week 9 as the Chiefs travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills on Sunday, November 2. The team will then have their bye week in Week 10.
The Chiefs return to action in Week 11 with a road game against the Denver Broncos on November 16, followed by a home game against the Indianapolis Colts on November 23. Just four days later, on Thursday, November 27, the Chiefs will travel to Dallas to play the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day. This marks the 11th time the Chiefs will play on Thanksgiving and their first since hosting Denver in 2006 – a game that was the first-ever live broadcast on NFL Network. The Chiefs have played the Cowboys on Thanksgiving once before in 1995 and hold a 5-5 record in Thanksgiving Day contests.
Weeks 14 and 15 see the Chiefs back at Arrowhead for consecutive home games against the Houston Texans on Sunday night, December 7, and the Los Angeles Chargers on December 14. They will then travel to Nashville to face the Tennessee Titans on December 21 before concluding the regular season with two divisional matchups.
In a Christmas Day showdown on Thursday, December 25, the Chiefs will host the Denver Broncos, marking the third straight year the team will play on Christmas. This year’s Christmas game will be broadcast on Prime Video as part of Amazon’s Thursday Night Football package. The Chiefs will wrap up their regular season schedule on the road against the Las Vegas Raiders, with the date and time yet to be determined.
