Oklahoma Woman Killed in Pottawatomie County Rollover Crash

WESTMORELAND, Kan. — A 74-year-old Oklahoma woman was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash Tuesday morning in Pottawatomie County. The accident occurred around 8:03 a.m. on K-99 highway near N. Church Road, approximately one mile north of Westmoreland, according to Pottawatomie County Sheriff Doug Adams.

A green 2006 Pontiac Solstice, traveling southbound on K-99, left the roadway and came to rest on its roof in the west ditch. The passenger, identified as Marsa Chandler, 74, of Oklahoma, was transported by Pottawatomie County Emergency Medical Services to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, where she later died.

The driver of the vehicle, Shirley Riegel, 66, also of Oklahoma, was also transported to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka for treatment of serious injuries.

The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. Further details were not immediately available.
