Meghan Blubaugh, wife of newly elected Sedgwick County Commissioner Jeff Blubaugh, has been charged with electioneering. The misdemeanor charge stems from an alleged incident on October 29th at an early voting site, where she is accused of violating state laws regarding campaigning near polling places.
The charge specifies that Blubaugh allegedly wore, exhibited, or distributed materials identifying a candidate or expressing support for a candidate within the polling place.
Blubaugh is scheduled for a court appearance on December 17th. If convicted, she faces a maximum penalty of one month in jail and a $500 fine.
