High-Speed Crash Leads to Arrest in Garden City

A Garden City man is facing charges following a high-speed crash early Monday morning.

Police responded to the intersection of 8th and Fulton Streets around 2:30 AM, where a vehicle had struck a building. The driver, 22-year-old Joseph Huerta, fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigators determined Huerta was driving at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into Pro-Tek Dent & Windshield Repair. He was subsequently arrested on charges of driving under the influence.
