Wichita Police Investigate Fatal Shooting

The Wichita Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting incident involving a 26-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman.

Early Sunday morning, around 3:30 AM, officers from the Patrol East Bureau were alerted to a potential break-in at a residence in the 800 block of South Edgemoor. An individual reported that a man armed with a handgun had entered the home and was inside with his ex-domestic partner.

Officers responded to the scene but were unable to establish contact with anyone inside the residence. The Wichita Police SWAT and Crisis Negotiation teams were activated to address the situation. Despite their efforts, no communication was established.

Later in the morning, the SWAT team entered the residence and discovered both the male suspect and his ex-domestic partner deceased from fatal gunshot wounds. The Wichita Police Department has not released any further details at this time.
