Beginning Monday, August 12, the Kansas Department of Transportation plans to begin a chip seal on K-28 in Cloud and Jewell counties.
Work on K-28 in Cloud County will occur from the Jewell/Cloud County line and continue east about 15 miles to the K-9/K-28 junction. Work on K-28 in Jewell County will occur from the K-28/K-148 junction and continue east about 8 miles to the Jewell/Cloud County line.
During construction, a pilot car will be used to direct one 11-foot lane of traffic through the work zone at a reduced speed. Drivers should be prepared for a delay of up to 15 minutes and plan extra time in their travel schedules.
Heft & Sons LLC, of Greensburg is the prime contractor for this $818,311 project which is scheduled for completion by September, weather permitting.
