A community development block grant will help fund construction of a new swimming pool at Blue Rapids. $763,000 will provide 60 percent of the project cost, with the balance from the city and donations. Fundraising efforts underway for a number of years have netted some $60,000 toward the effort. A construction timeline has not yet been established.
